The Hunter Valley is where Australian wine making began. With large-scale producers and small boutique wineries producing a wide range of wine varieties, there is something for everyone. As well as great wine, the region also offers fantastic local produce and a number of award-winning restaurants. And for those attending special events, we offer tour and transfer weekend packages. Upcoming events include the Lovedale Long Lunch (see below).

On a private Hunter Valley tour guests can simply follow our suggested itinerary or set their own. And for those wishing to visit a specific restaurant or attend a particular event, we will work with you to arrange a transfer or create a tour which meets your requirements.

 

A typical Hunter Valley private tour includes the following:

- Visits to three or four wineries – we like to visit wineries in a number of regions and sub-regions of the Hunter Valley. Usually

we include one winery where guests can take a tour of the wine production area

- The opportunity to sample locally made produce, including olives and cheese – private tastings available upon request

- Lunch at a local restaurant – dine with just your partner or group (your driver-guide will join you if you wish)

Guests may choose to include some of the following options in their private Hunter Valley tour (extra costs may apply):

- Enjoy morning tea at a winery or local guesthouse

- Visit a brewery – try the beers and/or join a tour of the production area

- Visit a chocolate shop and try the products

- Enjoy a private, sit-down cheese tasting and explanation

- Bring a picnic lunch (we can provide picnic equipment)

- Join a cooking class (typically 2-3 hours) and eat your creation for lunch

- Time to wander around Wollombi village, see its heritage buildings and perhaps sample Dr Jurd's Jungle Juice at the tavern

- Travel to the Hunter Valley along a scenic, country route
